Folders window
In the Folders window you can choose a folder or a drive where to search your music files. The chosen folder becomes current and information about all found MP3 files is displayed in the Tags table. You can see the path to the current folder in the leftmost corner of the status bar exactly under the Folders window.

To search in a folder make a double click on its name in the folders tree. If you make a double click second time search does not happen and the folder just collapses/expands. To rescan the current folder use "Rescan folder" button on the toolbar or menu command "File -> Rescan folder".
Search in subfolders
If this checkbox is on then search is performed also in all subfolders of a chosen folder or a drive.
Check it before you start search.
Refresh button checks for adding/removing folders or drives in operating system and updates the folders tree accordingly.
Instead of using the folders tree you can type a path to a folder in the path combo-box that is placed above. And press Go button to open the folder by the typed path. If the path is not fully correct then its incorrect part is discarded.
Example:
|
You typed:
D:\music\new\2010
But the folder "2010" does not exist. In this case search is performed in
D:\music\new
And this folder becomes current.

As alternative you also can use "Open folder" dialog window.
To call it use:
- "File->Open folder" menu command,
- or Ctrl+O keyboard shortcut.

In the case when a search of MP3 files takes a long time you see a dialog window "Searching files" with a Stop button. You can use it anytime to stop the search.

Next the program reads found files and shows a dialog window "Reading tag data". It also can take a long time if many files were found. You can also stop this process by pressing Stop button. Only read files are displayed in the Tags table.
